Reviews 1987 - Roba da
ricchi (Italy),
a.k.a. Montecarlo, Montecarlo [comedy].
Sergio Corbucci (director); with Renato
Pozzetto, Paolo Villaggi, Lino Banfi, Serena Grandi, and Francesca
Dellera.
In these intertwining episodes set in
Montecarlo, the rich are seen to be different from the rest of us. For
starters, they are more lustful and less scrupulous.
In one episode, a parish priest (Pozzetto)
fresh from a pilgrimage to Lourdes is drawn into a situation (approved
of by the Pope himself) where he must try to discourage the notions
developed by an Italian princess, (Dellera) who dreamed of the priest's
face and now entertains the idea of marrying him rather than the man
society has destined her for. The priest is compelled to become the
lover of the princess.
In another episode, the ever-hapless
Villaggio plays an insurance agent who is drawn just a bit too deeply
into one of his client's (Grandi) marital schemes. Serena Grandi nudity
and beachwear in this episode.
In a third, Lino Banfi has to deal with his
wife's (Antonelli) suicidal attempts.
