have made a contribution to
the cultural heritage of Istria and its people. We
do not include here individuals whose sole claim to fame stems from
being career politicians, soldiers, the nobility, clergy, or
commercial enterpreneurs who are otherwise featured in other sections of
our site. Do you recognize any of the famous Istrians in the images below? They have gained regional or international fame in their respective fields of science, literature, philosophy, visual arts, music and the performing arts, and we also include the rare world-class athlete.
