Istria on the Internet - People

This section is devoted to a few heroes and the many casualties that are numbered among the people of Istria and its surrounding regions. The times and the circumstances differed with each period in history and with each regime, but the outcome of brutal dictatorships has always been the same victimization of ordinary and primarily innocent citizens who some would call the "unsung heros". The greater numbers of such victims, of course, are generally associated with wars, but that is not exclusively the case.

As information becomes available, we shall provide a few personal accounts on the known heros and victims of the Fascist and Communist eras. So far, we offer the following:
