Gračišće - Gallignana
Cities, Towns and Hamlets

The romantic, half-ruined village of Gračišće (Gallignana) is about eight kilometers east of Pazin (Pisino). It had enjoyed better times in the Middle Ages, as evidenced by the huge campanile, a small loggia, the Salamon Palace, and the town gate. From the old cemetery behind the church which stands at an altitude of 450 meters, there is a beautiful view over the rolling countryside.  In August, the day of the village's patron saint, the town celebrates with a traditional donkey race.
